Hello, World

#ai#product#dev

David OlssonDavid Olsson

This blog is about what it actually feels like to build products with AI.

Not the pitch. Not the benchmark. The texture of it โ€” the moments where it works better than you expected, the moments where it doesn't, the decisions you make differently because a model is sitting next to you in the editor.

I'm a product builder. I work in IDEs. I use AI tools every day. And I've noticed that most of the writing about AI in product development is either hype or backlash โ€” very little of it is just honest, in-the-moment documentation of what the experience is actually like.

That's what this is.

Posts here will be short. Written from inside the work. No takeaways sections, no lessons learned, no "the future of software is..." I'll write about a specific thing that happened โ€” a bug, a decision, a workflow change, a moment of surprise โ€” and I'll leave it there.

This blog is published from the IDE, using scsiwyg. The irony of using an AI-native tool to write about AI-native tools is not lost on me.
